Collectors of Jersey stamps and postal history, war historians, postcard collectors, or anybody with an interest in the artist Edmund Blampied, who designed the stamps affixed to this postcard. The value of course is in the fact that Blampied, handled, wrote on, signed and dated this postcard, as well as referring to his designs in the message.
Not only that, but the date he did this was Liberation day in Jersey - 9th May 1945. To me, this lifts the item from being a run of mill postcard with common and low value stamps on it, to quite an important historical document. I bought it in Jersey about 20 years ago while on holiday there, from a Stamp Shop in St. Helier, not realising the significance of the date until today.
The item itself has a corner missing, also the stamps and writing on the back are upside down in relation to the front. Some small foxing which doesn't detract - please see photos.
Ironically, the postcard was never posted, so has no address or postmark on it, hence the stamps are mint. It appears to have been a personal gift given to a close friend, going by the inscription. It is common knowledge in philatelic circles, that Blampied incorporated hidden pro-British emblems in his designs, notably the inclusion of a stylised GR (GVI) in the 3d value, and an inverted V in every stamp, standing for Victory. Feel free to make an offer.I would much rather rely on common sense and fairness, but unfortunately they seem to be necessary, so that we both know what is expected from each other, and when. I expect to be paid in a timely manner - 5 days doesn't seem unreasonable, unless we have agreed something different. Please don't exceed this time without contacting me, as this may result in the item being relisted. To be safe, this is normally 10 ten days from when I have banked it, not three. Under no circumstances will I accept a bankers draft.
I pack VERY well, so it is extremely unlikely that an item will arrived damaged, unless someone has maliciously or deliberately tampered with it. I try very hard to describe items accurately, to the point where I make them sound worse than they actually are. I won't take items back just because you've changed your mind.
